Stuart Ross in the news

via recent email from Stu:

THE PITCH
I've started a new poetry magazine, Syd & Shirley, and thought I'd offer you an advance subscription at a special, one-time-only price. Here's what's coming in the 64 pages of Issue 1:
- A long interview with David McFadden, plus a new poem and a vintage poem by him
- A chapbook-size selection of new poetry by each of Lynn Crosbie (Toronto), Jeramy Dodds (Claremont, Ont.), and Richard Huttel (Chicago)
- A heap of capsule reviews, by me, of poetry books recent and old
The mag will appear two or three times a year, and this will be the standard format, though I might do a little tinkering. I've already got some amazing stuff for Issue 2.
THE MONEY PART
The cover price is $8 (for now), but if you buy an advance subscription (which would really help me out!), you'll get 3 issues for $20, postpaid. (U.S. subscribers pay in U.S. dollars, please.) After this offer expires, the subscription price will rise by $5.
The deadline for this special offer is May 10, 2005. If you'd like to pay via PayPal, just send $20 in the currency of your country to sydandshirley@sympatico.ca. If you want to pay via other methods, please drop me an email or give me a call.

Also, watch out for Stuart Ross' Ottawa launch of his latest book, CONFESSIONS OF A SMALL PRESS RACKETEER from Anvil Press. Details coming.
